GeneSTAR Tenderness is a DNA-based test for variants of the bovine Calpastatin gene and is associated with increased tenderness and/or increased toughness.

GeneSTAR Marbling is a DNA-based diagnostic test which distinguishes between alleles of the Thyroglobulin gene.

Our Goal: To  select for a higher frequency of 2-STAR animals, inconsistency and variation in tenderness/marbling, due to genetics will be reduced over time and eventually eliminated.
